Optical Smoke Detector with Base
Optical smoke detectors have consistently been recognized as suitable detectors for general use. They are regarded as particularly suitable for smoldering fires and escape routes. This smoke detector is also designed to significantly reduce the incidence of false alarms through over-sensitivity to transient phenomena.

Operation:
- Optical Smoke Detectors work on the well-established light scatter principle
- The remarkable optical design of this Smoke Detector enables it to respond to a wide spectrum of fires
- The sensing chamber contains an optical sensor that measures back-scattered light as well as the more usual forward-scattered light
- The detector is calibrated so that it is highly reliable in detecting fires but is much less likely to generate false alarms
- The stability of the detector-high reliability, low false alarm rate is further increased by the use of algorithms to decide when the detector should change to the alarm state
- Removes the likelihood of a detector producing an alarm as a result of smoke from smoking materials or another non-fire source

1. Does my purchase include a warranty?
Yes — every order includes the full manufacturer warranty. Coverage length varies by brand (typically 1–3 years for Garmin, Lowrance, Raymarine, Simrad, Humminbird, Furuno, and others).
2. How do I register for warranty coverage?
Register directly with the manufacturer using your unit’s serial number. Manufacturer registration is the fastest path to warranty support if you ever need it.
3. What does the manufacturer warranty cover?
Defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Damage from impact, improper installation, or saltwater corrosion (without protection) may be excluded. Check brand-specific terms in your unit’s documentation.
4. Can I extend the warranty?
Some manufacturers offer extended-coverage programs through their registration portals. We don’t sell third-party warranty programs.

1. How fast does my order ship?
Orders placed before 4pm EST Monday–Friday ship the same business day via UPS from our NJ or FL warehouses. Continental US delivery typically takes 3–7 business days for Economy.
